A mini metroidvania where the player can infuse their equipment with the power of the elements.

This was a Bevy Jam #2 submission. The downloads labelled 'jam version' are what was submitted to the jam. The other downloads and the web version contain some post-jam quality-of-life updates.

Please note that the MacOS builds are untested.

Controls

  • Arrow keys - move left/right
  • Z - jump
  • X - cast ability (if equipt)
  • Down arrow - interact
  • R - reload from last checkpoint

  • This asset pack was used for most of the sprites and tiles.
  • Sound effects created using Chiptone.

This game is awesome! It gives me really strong Magicka/Micro Mages vibes :)

Would love to see more levels of it!

Btw: It always says, that the keybind for jumping/selecting etc. is <z>, but that key is layout dependent. On German keyboards, it is the y-key. Maybe remap it to c or something. Or even better - give the player the option to customize :)

Could you please rebind the Cast Ability to a keyboard key ? So that it can be played simply using a keyboard.

Very clever little game!

I really thought I got stuck having to double jump over the lava with the low ceiling where you get the Cloak. Once I finally made it, I couldn't jump back and died in the lava but I guess you keep the Cloak anyway.

If you ever expand the concept have the Cloak+Wind do something like let you walk against windy areas perhaps? It would have been satisfying if the goblins had a death animation, lol. Also, is Summon Water used anywhere?

Summon water is used to turn lava into stone, which is how you're supposed to get past the lava with the low ceiling. Didn't know you could get past it with double jump haha.

Also yeah I planned to do something like that for Cloak+Wind but didn't have time.

I went down there before getting Water.  I couldn't get back the way I had come, and since I'd touched then save point I could only respawn there, so I thought I was soft-locked.

The double jump over that lava IS possible, but pretty precise so I almost rage quit. After getting the Cloak and then dying trying to get back, I realized that you keep it, so it's all good!

… I definitely just did the exact same thing XD It’s a pretty tight jump.

Glad I'm not the only one! Yeah, it was tighter than Superman's shoelaces! XD

I also skipped summon water with double jump after visiting the water area and not quite putting two and two together.

That was really enjoyable! 

The combinations were a lot of fun to experiment with and there were no real frustration points. The movement was a little loose but got used to it quickly enough.  I could see this doing really well if it was expanded on and more involved puzzles developed.

Was very fun like shanty quest

didnt encounter any bugs or glitches, for a game jam I would give 8.5/10

(no menu, no background image and maybe coins to collect would have been nice)

but still good. gj!
