A tower defense game where every tower has a side effect. Submitted for Bevy Jam #3.

At the start of each round, you'll be presented with three randomized towers to pick from. Place your tower (while being mindful of the side effect!) then press space to start the next wave. Try to survive as long as possible and claim the top spot on the leaderboard!

Note: for the web build bloom had to be disabled and the audio can be a bit stuttery, so consider downloading the native version.

Also note that the MacOS build is untested, although it should work.

great game!

Simple and accessible gameplay, constantly adding complexity. I really liked it, I like tower-defense games so this was up my alley. Effective!

Not sure if you plan to work on that, but there is two things that came into my mind:

a) Display the side effects applied to a tower, caused by other towers (and in some smart way, which tower is causing it).

b) In addition to adding a tower between rounds, let the player ontop of that move a single tower, and/or re-shuffle the side effects of a tower.

But yea, if you are done with the game, np, it’s fun to play as-is for sure!

Congrats, it's quite fun to play this game.
The only thing I've missed is the undo just after placing the new turret.
I mean, If I'd know that Laser tower works this way, I placed to another tile

Really impressive effort. I'll be back for another round later.

Far from just obliging the theme, I think you actually managed to improve a bit on the genre. Now every turret has the potential to change the dynamic of your setup, rather than just fulfill an immediate need for some type of firepower.

great game, good job! Except my coffee got cold while I was playing it… I didn’t see that side-effect on any of the cards!!!
